James Henry Jones, 77, a resident of Arkadelphia died Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Arkadelphia.
He was born on April 12, 1935, in Arkadelphia to the union of Wallace and Myrtle Delamar Jones.
James Henry was a retired employee of Toler and Sons Lumber Company in Leola, Arkansas. He was a member of Mt. Olive AME Church in Dalark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rose Mary Blacknall Jones, who died June 11, 1994; one son, Wendell Jones; two brothers, Alvin Jones and John Paul Jones; a granddaughter Nikita Reed, who made her transition on January 4, 2011.
His love and life will forever be cherished by his children, Gloria (Bobby) Perry of Clarksville, Tennessee; Gwendolyn (William) Reed, John Wayne Jones and Leslie Jones all of Arkadelphia and Michelle Hughes of Little Rock; twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, a special friend Shemane Jenkins of Arkadelphia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relative and friends.
Mr. Jones will lie in repose at the funeral home on Friday, January 21, 2011, 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
The family of Mr. Jones will receive friends and other family members at the funeral home 7:30 p.m. –8:30 p.m.
The celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Olive AME Church where Rev. Linda Butler is the pastor and will deliver the message.
The committal service and final resting place will be in Piney Grove Cemetery.
