For none of us has life in himself and none become his own master when he dies. For if we have life, we are alive in the Lord, and if we die, we die in the Lord. So, then, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s possession. Happy from now on are those who die in the Lord! So it is says the Spirit, for they rest from their labors.
Theadocia Helen Hill Walker was born into time on July 6, 1923, to the loving parentage of John Bell Hill and Ruby Blackmon Hill in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
She grew up to be a lovely lady, both in beauty and in spirit. She left school to assist her mother in caring for her siblings and providing for the home. It was then that her ministry of servanthood started.
She was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost. She was a lifelong member of Tate Temple COGIC where she served faithfully on the Mother’s Board. It was her greatest desire to serve the people of the Lord with her whole heart, and to see lost souls brought into the Kingdom of Christ.
Theadocia married Walter Walker. She felt compelled to earn a living and worked for thirty committed years as a housekeeper for Butch Heard and Ann Kelly. She also worked for Dr. Tommy Roebuck and helped raise and nurture his children.
And so it was, that on Monday, January 31, 2011, at 7:25 p.m. she beheld the glorious light of her beloved Savior’s countenance as He beckoned her from time into eternity.
Mother Walker was preceded in death by her husband, her sister Charlesue Thomas, six brothers Levi Jones, Earnest Jones, David “OD” Hill, John Douglas Hill and Charles R. Hill.
She leaves to remember her life: two sons, Raymond Jackson of Detroit, MI and John E. Shugart of Arkadelphia; two sisters, Marie Holmes of St. Louis, MO, and Martha L. Morgan of Bella Vista, CA,; one brother, Phillip Hill of St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, numerous friends and the Tate Temple COGIC family.
