Everlean Eason Rucks began her journey of life on April 11, 1928, in Sparkman, Arkansas, as the daughter of Oliver Eason and Mary Lee Lock Eason Nolen.
Nurtured in a Christian environment, Everlean gave her life to Christ at a young age and joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. She was a lifelong member who served faithfully as a member of the choir and as a missionary until her health would no longer permit her to do so.
On December 30, 1948, after a brief courtship she became Mrs. Everlean Eason Rucks, when she married the handsome Adolph Rucks her sweetheart and one true love; and together they laid a solid foundation for family life based on love, commitment, and Christian values.
They later became proud parents of seven caring and devoted children Johnny, Robert, Linda, L. C., Larry, Lonnie, and Loraine. They made many sacrifices to raise and nurture their children. Her faith always presented a bright lighthouse in her life and the life of her family.
Everlean was a part of that generation that counted motherhood as a virtue because mothers knew the difference between a house and home. So her golden accomplishment in life was to make a loving home that would produce a tapestry of memories her family would forever cherish.
She loved to fish and was a great cook. She worked for several years as a cook at the Sparkman Learning Center. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren.
In her 82nd season of life, Everlean received her blessing of immortality on, Sunday, February 13, 2011, at Twin Rivers Health and Rehab Center surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family members and friends.
Everlean was welcomed home by her loving husband, Adolph who made his transition in 1994 on Thanksgiving, two sons Robert L. Rucks (1994) and Larry Rucks (1992);two brothers Early Eason, LB Eason and one sister Norma Jean Milton.
Because love is far greater that death Everlean departs this earth in body only. Her gentle smile and infectious laugh lives on in the memories, minds and hearts of her children: Johnny (Annie) Rucks of Sparkman, AR, Linda (Charlie) Matlock of Princeton, AR, L. C. (Paula) Rucks of Sparkman, AR, Lonnie (Rose) Rucks of Sparkman, AR, Loraine (Hosea) Walker of Gurdon, AR; one brother Elder G. C. (Missionary Annie) Nolen of Arkadelphia, AR, 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, numerous friends and the Macedonia Baptist Church family.
