Tommy Lewis Allums was born on August 9, 1956 in Hogansville,
Georgia, to the late Leroy Allums, Sr. and Lena Jennings Allums.
He served his country by joining the U.S. Army in July 1977. In June 2005 he retired from the 409th Medical Company, in Bossier City,Louisiana with twenty-eight years of service.
Tommy accepted Christ and united with the Mount Sinai Missionary
Baptist Church where he served faithfully with the Media Ministry until
his death.
He united in holy matrimony to Carolyn Allums on May 10, 1986, and to this union two children were born.
His memories will be cherished by his wife, Carolyn Allums; his three Sons: Shaun Bloomer, Tommy Lamar Allums, and Brandon Dion
Allums, all of Shreveport; Granddaughter: Makenzi Joy Chambers; Three Sisters: Willie Mae Jennings of Stone Mountain, Georgia; Annie Jean Mapp of Atlanta, Georgia; Patricia Ann Smith (Reverend Emory Smith), of Shreveport, Louisiana; Two Brothers: Leroy Allums, Jr.
(Patricia Allums) of Hogansville, Georgia; Lamar Allums (Josephine
Truitt), of Hogansville, Georgia. Two Sisters-in-Law: Cheryl Walker
(Roston) of Shreveport, Louisiana; Mary Raymond (Cleophus) of Carson California; Three Brothers-in-Law: Vernon Bloomer (Exa) of Shreveport, Louisiana; Gregory Bloomer (Bettye), of Desoto, TX; Earl
Bloomer (Kimberly) of Shreveport, Louisiana; and a host of Aunts,
Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Friends.
A Celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, 1960 Laurel Street, Shreveport, Louisiana where Rev. Robert C. Canada is the pastor and eulogist.
