Sarah Jane Warren was born December 25, 1918, in Hempstead County, the daughter of William and Henrietta Collins Warren.
On Wednesday, August 17, 2011, God sent his angels to bring her home to rest.
At an early age she committed her life to Christ at Antioch Baptist Church in Emmett, Arkansas. She later united with Shady Grove AME Church in Arkadelphia where she was a faithful member.
She was a homemaker and member of the Order of Eastern Star.
On March 27, 1946 she married Columbus Moss and to this union four children were born. The Lord also blessed their union with a step-son Clarence Carllel. Together they made many sacrifices to raise their children based on love, commitment, and Christian values.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She preached kindness, respect of self and others.
Those she touched and those who knew her witnessed her untiring love for God. She was a believer in “treating others, as you would have them to treat you”. She possessed an infectious smile that would chase the chill from any room.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Columbus Moss, step-son, Clarence and a grandson, Fredrick Cook.
She leaves her precious memories with her children, Martha Faye Miles of Little Rock, Columbus W. (Linda) Moss of Pine Bluff, Mildred Moss of Arkadelphia and Loretta Moss of Garland, Texas; four grandchildren, Richard Moss, Veronica Morton, Lynette Moss and Eboni Smith; three great-grandchildren, Kamryn, Kennedy and Jayla.
She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Moss will lie in repose in Williams Funeral Home on Monday, Aug. 22, from noon until 6 p.m.
The last farewell and tributes to her life will be shared on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Shady Grove AME Church, with the Rev. Donnie Tank officiating.
The committal service and final resting place will be in Antioch Cemetery in Emmett.
