Imo Jean Juniel

As we retrace the footprints of Imo Jean Juniel we can only give thanks for the many lives she touched and enriched along life’s journey. A bold and self confident woman, she was blessed to enjoy many of God’s blessings as a child, a sister, a mother, aunt, grandmother and a trusted friend. Imo Jean began her journey of life on July 31, 1954, at Camden, Arkansas as the daughter of Henry Cleveland, Sr. and Laura Lillian Atkins Juniel. At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She united with Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church where she was a part of the Haymonettes Choir Imo Jean was educated in Ouachita County and was a 1972 graduate of Camden High School where she excelled as a student. She later completed her business certification at Capital City Business College in Little Rock, Arkansas. Imo Jean grew up to be a loving, kind and intelligent young woman. She later joined Zion Hill Baptist Church where she served as a youth Sunday School Teacher, praise team member, and Sanctuary Choir member. In 2007 she was released to Tabernacle of Faith International where she served as music ministry leader, Sunday School Teache and bookkeeper. She was employed with Southwest Arkansas Development Council (SWADC) where she served as the Assistant Director/Kitchen Supervisor. The Lord entrusted Imo Jean with Angela and Felecia to raise, nurture and love. Imo Jean was a part of that generation that counted motherhood as a virtue because mothers knew the difference between a house and home. So Imo Jean’s golden accomplishment in life was to make a loving home that would produce a tapestry of memories her family would forever cherish. Imo Jean received her blessing of immortality on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 in Camden, Arkansas with her family by her side. During all of her 57 seasons, she made friends across race, gender, faith and creed; she freely offered wise counsel, gave generously to those in need and inspired everyone who crossed her path. Imo Jean leaves to celebrate and honor her life’s journey: her parents, Laura Juniel and Henry Cleveland Juniel Sr., of Camden; two daughters, Angela Avery (Stephone) of Camden, Felecia McCoy (William) of Camden; four sisters, Doris Thompson (John Henry) of Hampton, Linda Johnson (Kelvin) of Camden, Brenda Robinson (Gregory) of Bearden, Denise Thompson (Benny) of Camden; three brothers, Donald Juniel (Leana) of Camden, Henry Juniel of Camden and Kenneth Juniel (Pamela) of Carthage. She also leaves to cherish seven grandchildren: Telecia, Stephone II (Danyle), Carlos, Jalissa, Justin, Jonathan, Lexi, and one great-grandson Stephone III; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, countless friends, and the Tabernacle of Faith International family. Ms. Juniel will lie in repose on Friday, October 7th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Koinonia of Grace in Camden, Arkansas. The family will receive friends and share with them the Images of Life DVD from 7-8 p.m. Floral arrangements can be delivered to Koinonia of Grace on Adams Avenue in Camden on Friday at 3:00 p.m. A Celebration of Her Life will be held Saturday, October 8th at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Greater New Calvary COGIC where Pastor Cedric Mitchell is the pastor. Her brother, Pastor Kenneth Juniel the pastor of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Fordyce, Arkansas will preach the celebration message. The committal service and final resting place will be in Eternal Rest Cemetery in Camden, Arkansas. Bearers of the cakset will be Bobby Joe Beavers, Charles Beavers, Carlos Beavers, Joey Brown, Kenneth Juniel Jr., Kelvin Johnson Jr., and Peter Tavares.
