…while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. II Corinthians 4:18
Charles Ollison came into this world on November 27, 1946, in Gurdon, Arkansas. He was the son of Albert, Jr., and Dorothy Wilson Ollison.
During his early childhood, he gave his life to Christ and united with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church family in 1956. He later united with the Sycamore Church a non-denominational fellowship.
He was a 1965 graduate of Bell High School and completed a two-year studies program at the Rehabilitation School Center. He was a former employee of the B Printing Company in DeQueen, Arkansas and he worked as a security Guard at International Paper in Gurdon.
He met and married the apple of his eye Marilyn Bell on October 29, 1971. Charles had two great loves, the Lord and singing. Early on he realized his gift and talent was the ministry of music. Charles was a talented vocalist known throughout Arkansas. Those he touched and those who knew him witnessed his untiring love for God. He was a believer in “treating others, as you would have them to treat you.”
Charles had a loving spirit, great sense of humor and never met a stranger. Though he never had any children of his own he cherished his nieces and nephews as his own.
He was a fighter until the end and in his 64th season of life Charles ended his journey on Thursday, October 20, 2011, at Arkansas Hospice in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Those awaiting his arrival and to welcome him home are his mother and father, Albert, Jr., and Dorothy Wilson Ollison, his wife, Marilyn Bell, his brother Davis S. Ollison and niece Shana Harper.
His sense of humor, smile, and music will be forever cherished by his siblings, Clifford (Fannie) Ollison of Prescott, AR, Matthew Ollison of Gurdon, AR, Rebecca V. Ollison of Irving, TX, Rose Mary (Terry) Wright of Gurdon, AR, and Lisa Renee Ollison Martin of Arkadelphia, AR. He also leaves in God’s care a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, numerous friends and the Sycamore Church family.
Mr. Ollison will lie in repose at the funeral home on Wednesday October 26th from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends and share the Images of Life DVD from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 1 p.m. in the sanctuary of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church where Rev. Johnny Harris is the pastor. Bro. James McCain will render expressions of love and comfort.
