Just doing all each day that I can, and living it with zest by loving, laughing, and dreaming too, but always just trying to do my best. My best I’ll give, my best I’ll share without a question why because I know I cannot stay, for I’m just passing by.
Herbert "Pete" Sands was born on April 1, 1955 in Prentice, Mississippi. He was the beloved son of Mrs. Loe Sands Buckley.
“Pete”, as he was known by many and never met a stranger. He was a high school graduate and a member of New Generation Baptist Church in Arkadelphia.
He was a former employee of EPA where he worked as a forklift operator. He also worked construction. Pete did things “his way” and will be missed by many.
In his 57th season of life he passed into the Lord’s embrace on Sunday, October 30, 2011.
He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Sands of Charleston, SC; one sister, Gweneva Jones of Arkadelphia, one aunt Helen Hall of Prentice, MS, one uncle Vincent Sands of Chicago, IL, and five grandchildren.
A tribute to Pete’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2011, at New Generation Baptist Church where Rev. Charles D. Hood is the pastor and will render words of comfort. Cremation services provided by Williams Funeral Home, Inc.
