The Montgomery family has planned a service of Celebration and Thanksgiving honoring the life of their beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Belois O. Montgomery, on Saturday, November 26, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. in Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Dr. Lewis A. Shepherd, Jr., the pastor, will preach the celebration message.
On Monday, November 21, 2011, at Baptist Health Medical Center, Arkadelphia, Mrs. Montgomery, in her 82nd season, life ended here on earth but she begin a new life in her heavenly home with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
She was born April 21, 1929,in Arkadelphia (Manchester Community) Arkansas, to Levi and Bertha Littlejohn Bullock.
She was a 1947 graduate of Peake High School. She retired from the Arkadelphia Public School as a Custodian Worker.
She was a member of the Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where sing in the choir until her health failed. She loved to sing, one of her favorite songs was "I Won't Complain".
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Fred Montgomery.
Mrs. Montgomery's memories will live on in the hearts of her children, Sherron and her husband, Ronnie Newton of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Claretta Newborn and Henry Boozer of Arkadelphia; two brothers, Benjamin Bullock and his wife Mary of Pemberton, New Jersey and Levi Bullock and his wife Carol of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Vertie and her husband, Kezell Holmes of Pemberton, New Jersey and Carol Haywood of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Mrs. Montgomery will lie in repose in the funeral home on Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:00 p. m. and share the Images of Life DVD.
The committal service and final resting place will be in Piney Grove Cemetery.
