Mariah Craig Henderson

Sister Mariah Henderson was born December 20, 1920 in Sparkman, Arkansas to Lonz and Perlie Craig. Mariah enjoyed church and participated whenever there was a church event, Mariah loved the Lord. In 1938 Mariah was united in holy matrimony to Joe Henderson and from this union nine children were born. Mariah would later become mother to one more child. Mariah loved her family reunions and family gatherings. Mariah enjoyed fishing. She could sit and fish for hours. She also enjoyed quilting. She could patch and sew from any materials. Mariah leaves to cherish her memory: three sons, Eugene (Idonia) Henderson of Sparkman, Jimmie(Earnestine)  Henderson and Hershel (Minnie) Henderson of Rockford, Illinois; five daughters, Elenora Goodwin of Newark, New Jersey, Joe May Henderson, Jeanette Henderson, Betty Briggs and LaSuhanda Bowman of Rockford, Illinois; one sister Mae Liza Harrison of Sparkman; twenty-nine grandchildren, seventy-two great grandchildren, forty-six great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe Henderson; two daughters, Eliza Mae Boyland and Alice Malone; five sisters, Arline Gipson, Perline Henderson, Varsacie Craig, Elizabeth Penix, Liela McIntosh; two brothers Lenny Craig and Mint Craig. SUBMITTED BY THE HENDERSON FAMILY Mrs. Henderson will lie in repose at the funeral on Friday, January 27, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The family will receive relatives and friends 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.  in Harmony Missionary Baptist Church where Rev. Harvey Goodwin is the pastor and will deliver the eulogy. The committal service and final resting place will be in Harmony Cemetery.
