Sis. Idella Hopson Hayes was born November 29, 1927 in Laneburg, Nevada County, Arkansas to the late Claudie and Emma Flemons Hopson.
On Saturday April 7, 2012 after 3 P.M. at the Medical Park Hospital, Hope, Arkansas Sis. Hayes heard her Master’s call, as He noticed how tired she was, and said its time. Like a vapor she departed this life. She was predeceased by her husband, Liege Hayes, her parents, her grandparents Maxwell and Margaret Flemons, her daughter Emma Jean Jackson, two brothers: C.L. Hopson, Howard Hopson, and great-great grandson.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Liege Hayes, no children were born in the union. She accepted Christ at an early age in Laneburg, AR. She was a member of St. Luke A.M.E. Church. She moved to Wards Chapel A.M.E. Church where she was a member for 25 plus years. She recommitted her life to Christ when she united with the Church of Christ, where she attended faithfully until her health began to fail.
She attended school in Nevada County, Arkansas and moved to Prescott at a young age. She was employed as a domestic worker for several years until she worked in a restaurant as a cook for many years, even in her sickness her taste buds were still active.
She was a fun loving enegertic person who enjoyed life riding, fishing, and cooking. Those things became second nature to her. She will be deeply missed, but God dosen't make mistakes.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Ricky Smallwood of Ft. Worth, TX, William Smallwood of Little Rock, AR, Joe Nathan(Gail) Goley of Olathe, KS; one daughter Veronica Hopson of Olathe, KS; Grandchildren: 17 Cristal Murphy, Xavier, Dana, Angel, William, Jr., Tareva and Rainy Smallwood: Marcus Muldrow, Joe, Jr., Tisa, Neice Henson, Jarrod Cole, Ra’Shaad, Jerika, Shyra Graham, Corby Jackson, Chasity Dixon. 22 Great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; one brother Arlea (Dorothy) Hopson of Camden, AR; two sisters-in-law Loretta Hopson of Rockford, IL and Lurene Hopson of Gurdon, AR/Rockford, IL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, and many friends.
Mrs. Hayes will lie in repose on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Prescott Chapel in Prescott, Arkansas and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m.
The home going celebration will convene at 2: 00 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Munn’s Chapel Baptist Church where Rev. Arthur Hill is the pastor and celebrant. Minister Bobby Shaw will deliver the eulogy.
The committal service and final resting place will be in Craven Cemetery.
Bearers of the casket will be Nathaniel Hendrix, Courtney Jefferson, Rodney Moreland Russell Randall, Richard Hopson, Shaun Jefferson, Marcus Muldrew and Terry Walker.
