The path of this life’s journey began when Stanley Charles McClelland was born on June 14, 1963 in Gurdon, Arkansas to the union of Harvey and Artha Lee Cunningham McClelland.
He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. He was a 1981 graduate of Gurdon High School and grew up to be a handsome and intelligent young man.
Stanley worked as a machine operator at the Gurdon Mill. He will be remembered as a dependable co-worker who possessed an impeccable work ethic. Stanley was blessed with the birth of a son he proudly named Stanley, Jr., and was a member of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church.
The path of this life’s journey came to a close on Saturday, April 28, 2012. He was preceded in death by his father Harvey McClelland and one brother Demond McClelland.
When one is remembered they never die. Stanley will live on in the hearts of his son, Stanley C. McClelland and his fiancé Tara Gulley of Gurdon; one grandchild Skyla McClelland; his fiancé Cynthia Gulley of Gurdon; his mother Artha Lee McClelland of Gurdon; three sisters Danita Marks of Bryant, AR, Beverly Young of Gurdon, AR, and Melinda McClelland of McKinney, TX; four brothers Harvey McClelland, Sr., and Connie McClelland Allen of Houston, TX, David McClelland of Gurdon, AR, Shawn McClelland of Gurdon, AR, and Kenneth McClelland of Arlington, TX; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends.
Family and friends will gather at a memorial service to commemorate his life on Saturday, May 5th at 3:00 p. m. at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church where Rev. Johnny Harris will render words of comfort.
