James Edward Browning

James Edward Browning, 69, of Detroit, Michigan, died Saturday, April 28, 2012, in Michigan. He was born October 18, 1942 in Arkadelphia; he was the son of the late James and Lucy Beard Browning. He attended Peake High School in Arkadelphia and later moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan. He united in marriage to Joe Ella Hart and to this union no children were born. James later moved to Detroit, Michigan until the Lord called him home on Saturday, April 2012. While in Detroit he worked at Ford Motor Company for several years and lastly Vickers Aircraft Company. James was a hard worker, dedicated to his job and was well liked be all who knew him. Those left to remember and celebrate his life are his five sisters Betty Newburn and Dorothy Johnson of Arkadelphia, Gertie Browning of Detroit, Michigan; Vera Parkes of Chicago, Illinois and Beatrice St. Clair of Corona, California. He also leaves four nieces, four nephews, five great-nieces, one great-nephew and a host cousins and friends. Mr. Browning will lie in repose at the funeral home on Friday, May 11th from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12th at Pleasant Hill AME Church, where Rev. Rex Smith is the pastor. Rev. J. L. Newborn the pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church, Sparkman will deliver words of comfort and hope. The committal service and final resting place will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Submitted by the Browning Family
