Jerline Kennel

November 30, 1935 — September 25, 2012

Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the saints salute you. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.   II Corinthians 13:11-14   On Tuesday, September 25, 2012 Jerline Kennel mercifully left this world of time to live forever in eternity. Her sweet strong spirit will be missed by many. Her passing reminds us that life is uncertain, but death is sure. Jerline began her earthly journey on November 30, 1935, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of J. R. Gamble and Ruby Lee Parks Sipert. She met the handsome and charming L. E. Kennel. This friendship led to a relationship, leading to matrimony in 1951. The Lord blessed this union with ten happy and healthy children. Jerline was a diligent employee where she worked for several years at the Gurdon Lumber Company in Gurdon, Arkansas. She was tireless willing worker who made several sacrifices to take care of her family. She was a faithful member of Davis Temple Church of God In Christ where she had the love, the loyalty and the respect of the church and her family. She was gifted with an incentive to overcome and the motivation to succeed. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Carolyn Trotter, her husband, L. E. Kennel who made his transition on December 25, 1986. Because love is greater than death; her love will live in the hearts of her ten children: Wanda Sue Russey of Little Rock, AR, Charlotte A. Kennel of Ft. Worth, TX, Annette (Roger) Williamson of Grand Prairie, TX, L. E. Kennel, Jr., of Arkadelphia, Diana K. Foley of Anaheim, CA, Ricky Kennel of Dallas, TX, Mary (Patrick) Willis of Ft. Worth, TX, Wyona D. Kennel of Dallas, TX, Randy J. Kennel of Ft. Smith, AR, and Stanley (Tamika) Kennel of Arkadelphia, AR; nineteen grandchildren, Deborah Russey, Carlotte Brown, Ray Kennel, Gerald Kennel, Katrina Kennel, Katina Kennel, Whitney Williamson, Ashley Williamson, Kimberly Russey, Brandy Jones, Jesse J. Foley, LaKisha Nubine, Shawn Kennel, Kia Kennel, Elanders Kennel, Lejune Kennel, Robert Kennel, Tyler Kennel, and Adrianna Kennel; a host of great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Ann Trotter of Phoenix, AZ; two brothers, Jimmy Simpson of Ontario, CA and Larry Trotter of Los Angeles, CA. She also leaves nieces, nephews, other relative and friends. How shall we conclude the matter of the life of Sister Jerline Kennel? We shall not conclude it, for we understand that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord! We shall not conclude it, for we know that Jesus is the resurrection and the Life! We shall not conclude it, for we understand if we too accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior we will see Sister Jerline Kennel again on the other side where she is walking and resting in the arms of Christ Jesus. Mrs. Kennel will lie in repose on Friday, September 28, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A service celebrating the life of Mrs. Kennel will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Davis Temple Church Of God In Christ where Elder Benny Johnson is the pastor and will be the celebrant. The committal service and final resting place will be in Rose Hedge Cemetery. Bearers of the casket will be Roger Williamson, Gerald Kennel, Patrick Willis, Ray Ali Kennel, Johnny Walker, and Algemar Kennel. Click the video tribute tab to view the tribute.
