Imon Hale, Jr.

September 23, 1936 — June 2, 2013

Life’s journey began for Imon Hale, Jr. when he was born September 23, 1936, in Okolona, Arkansas. He was the first child born to the union of Imon Sr., and Corenthia Osborne Hale. He confessed his faith in Christ at a tender age where he united with First Baptist Church of Okolona. He was a graduate of Simmons High School in Okolona, Arkansas. He met the beautiful Mary Ellen Lidge in August of 1950 and they were married in May of 1955. The Lord blessed them with eight healthy children to raise, love and nurture. He took his role as father seriously. He worked hard and made many sacrifices to take care of his family. His children were his pride and joy. Imon was a part of the Hale family legacy that for generations were taught a strong work ethic. He was a faithful employee having worked for Arkla Gas, the International Paper Company and Henderson State University. He was an entrepreneur and operated Hale Janitorial Services for several years until his health begin to decline. One of his greatest joys was spending memorable moments with relatives both young and old. He was not a man of many words, but of few words and of many virtues. He was a good man and a hard worker. Imon traveled this road of life and dealt with the stormy and sunny days along the way to the best of his ability with integrity and character. He was a patient man. He always maintained a humble spirit and mild disposition throughout his life. We will remember his smiles, his love, and infectious laugh He was preceded in transition by his doting parents, Imon Sr., and Corenthia Osborne Hale (2007); his beloved Mary Ellen who passed into the Lord’s embrace on May 2, 2007; who made her transition on and two sons, Steve A. Hale (1978) and Early W. Hale (2006). On Sunday, June 2, 2013; in his 76th season of life he began his eternal celebration in a land that shall never grow old. His passing shall be filled with rejoicing for a life well lived. It is a given that he lived a long life filled with love, joy and happiness. He gave his all to the Lord, and now is added to His great and blessed family in the world beyond our vision, a place not made by human hands, a place we call Heaven. His life was the epitome of courage, love, and a deep abiding faith expressed by the many lives he touched. He leaves to forever remember his legacy: his seven children, Danny (Felicia) Hale of Jacksonville, AR, Elder Michael (Jacqueline) Hale of Arkadelphia, AR, Paul Hale of Arkadelphia, AR, Ella Hale of Jacksonville, AR, and Kevin Hale of Hot Springs, AR; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren ; one sister, Shirley Dancy of Los Angeles, CA; three brothers, Johnny Hale of Okolona, AR, Manuel (Priscilla) Hale of Okolona, AR, and Norman (Donna) Hale of Raleigh, NC; nephews, nephews, numerous cousins and countless friends.
