In the record books you will find that on April 28, 1920, in Prescott, Nevada County, Arkansas, a baby boy was born to Arthur and Beacher Baker Henry and they named him James.
During James lifetime, known as “Beachie” to his friends and family, he served his country in the United States Army, worked on the railroad and was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church, Bluff City.
Beachie made Gurdon, Arkansas, his place of residence.
In his 88th season, on Sunday, May 11, 2008, at Baptist Health Medical Center, Arkadelphia, Beachie went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, his brother, Vester Henry and one of his sisters, Ethel Robinson.
Those to bid farewell are his sister; Luella Foreman of Charleston, South Carolina; his nieces and nephews and a caravan of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and a community of friends will miss him.
As we honor the passing of Mr. Henry, may we continue to celebrate his life and legacy.
The Celebration of Life for Mr. James “Beachie” Henry is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. in Union Grove Baptist Church with Elder Chester Mitchell, Sr., pastor of First Memorial Church of God In Christ, Gurdon, officiating.
