“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die.” Eccl 3:1-2 Carl DeWayne Anderson was born into time on October 20, 1984, in Prescott, Arkansas. Better known to family and friends as “Pooh”, he grew up in Gurdon surrounded by the love of his parents, Rouvenda L. Sims and Carl Freddie Anderson. “Pooh” was very creative and had a lively imagination. He attended school in Gurdon where he played basketball. His education was completed at Continental Academy located in Florida. He was a friendly and outgoing young man. He made friends easily and never met a stranger. Pooh later moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas. A hard working, intelligent young man, he was employed with Tim Parker Chrysler in Hot Springs. Pooh was a lover of music and you could always catch him jamming to the sounds of ZRO - his favorite song…”Joy”. In his free time, he loved to fish and enjoyed eating. Family as well as friends will miss his jovial spirit and smile, but will never forget his sense of humor. He lived life to the fullest and there was never a dull moment when Pooh was around. Known for his cars and style, he always took extra time to make sure his appearance was perfect. His favorite color was red and his favorite clothing label was Ecko. Pooh’s greatest accomplishments in his life were the birth of Carlia, Kamryn and Dontae. They were a source of joy and pride in his life. The sun set on the life of Pooh on Thursday, October 24, 2013. He was welcomed to his eternal home by his grandfather R. C. Anderson and uncle Anthony McCoy. Those left to forever cherish his love, sense of humor and laughter are: his children, Carlia D. Anderson, Kamryn McClanahan and Dontae Anderson; his mother, Rouvenda L. Sims of Caddo Valley, AR; his father, Carl Freddie (Veronica Smith) Anderson of Gurdon, AR; his brother, Brian Green of Grady, AR; his grandparents, Patricia McCoy of Gurdon, AR, Mildred Anderson of Gurdon, Arkansas and Nathaniel Sims of Lexington, KY; his aunts, Lencola McCoy of Gurdon, AR, Kimberly McCoy of Gurdon, AR, Stella (Johnnie) Lacy of Gurdon, AR, and Mattie (Gus) Gentry of Gurdon, AR; his uncles, James Marshall of Hope, AR, Nathaniel Sims, Jr., of Oklahoma City, OK, Rockine McCoy of Gurdon, AR, Tip Andrew (Benita) Anderson of Fayetteville, AR, Tony Anderson of Gurdon, AR, Greg (Talitha) Harvell of Gurdon, AR, and Otis Duncan of Gurdon, AR; he also leaves a host of cousins and numerous friends. Public visitation Friday, November 1, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The last farewell will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Mt. Canaan Baptist Church. Rev. Rufus Hatley will deliver the eulogy. Interment in Rose Hedge Cemetery. Bearers of the casket will be Tony Grigsby, Roderick Grigsby, Kelvin Tidwell, Robert Green, Tony Anderson, Randy Bell and Kentrell Green. The honorary bearers will be Jermaine Lawson, Herald Dickens, Gregory Beasley and Ricky Ross.
