Charles Lamont "Mussey" Daniel

February 29, 1976 — October 28, 2013

On February 29, 1976, Charles and Cynthia Daniel welcomed the birth of their first born son. They named him Charles Lamont Daniel. He was better know as “Mussey”, “Half-Pint” “Lamont” and “Burger”. Lamont accepted Christ at a young age and united with the First Missionary Baptist Church family under the pastorate of Dr. Shadrach Porchia. He served as a Junior Deacon, choir member. He proudly served on the usher board under the leadership of Sis. Ella Mae Butler. He was a 1996 graduate of Sparkman High School. Shortly after high school he attended Job Corps in New Mexico. Lamont was not a lazy young man; he exemplified Genesis 3:19” By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return." He worked for over 10 years with Dean Crouse Company. He was an employee of Ray White Lumber Company. “Mussey” was an outdoorsman. He spent countless hours hunting and fishing. He was a simple man who loved his children and his family. He favorite song was “Regulate” by Warren G & Nate Dog. He lived life to the fullest and there was never a dull moment when he was around. Family as well as friends will miss his jovial spirit and smile, but will never forget his sense of humor. He was preceded in his passing by his father Charles Edward Daniel; his sister, Renee Daniel; his grandparents, Charles Walter Daniel, Ezekiel Harrison, Sr., and Dorothy Daniel; his aunts and uncles, Shirley Crawford, Betty J. Daniel, Lou Ida Daniel, Renee Daniel, Donald Thrower, Ezekiel Harrison, Jr., and Tracy Harrison. Lamont leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Cynthia Wright of Monticello, AR; Stephanie R. Berry, a special friend and the mother of his children, Damion E. Daniel, Breuna D. Daniel and Bra’Shawn Daniel all of Sparkman; his grandmother, Maelene Harrison of Arkadelphia; five sisters, Shundrika Daniel of Monticello, LaKendra (Wane) Thompson of Sparkman, Porsha Wright of El Dorado, Tracey Wright of Monticello, and LoToya Daniel of Sparkmna; five brothers, Kawannis Daniel of Caddo Valley, Jonathan Daniel of Sparkman, Malcolm Daniel of Sparkman, Justin Wright of Sparkman and Kenneth Highsmith of Camden; one nephew, Jeremiah Matlock; four nieces, JaKailyn Johnson, JaMaria Johnson, JaNiya Johnson and JaNailyn Wright; his aunts Linnie (Michael) Lowery of St. Peters, MO, Rose Mary (Dawson) Williams of Jacksonville, Patricia Carroll of Cotton Plant, Sharon Daniel of Sparkman, AR, Phyllis (Ricky) Harrison of Sparkman, AR, and Celesia Williams of Arkadelphia, AR; his uncles, Elder Carl Fredrick Daniel of Little Rock; great-aunts Veleria Govan, Loreatha Eason and Eddie Mae Halton; great-uncles, H.B. Halton and Freddie Halton; great-great uncle, Deacon Leon Keith of Milwaukee, WS; and a host of cousins and numerous friends. The last farewell will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at First Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. L. A Craig will preach the eulogy. Interment in Sparkman Memorial Cemetery. There is no public viewing or family hour scheduled.
