C. L. Allen, also known as “Goose” was conceived and born out of the young love between R. C. and Armenter Pigg Allen on December 12, 1943 in Vaden, Arkansas. He was raised in loving home with his brothers and sisters by parents who instilled in him the values of morality, integrity and humility.
C. L. accepted Christ as a young man and was a member of Church of the Living God Pillar of Ground and Truth in Vaden, Arkansas. On November 15, 1969 at the shy age of 26 he married Dorothy Lock. The Lord added to their union three handsome boys, Michael, Calvin and DaShawn. C. L. and Dorothy loved their boys tremendously and they worked hard at providing for their family. He grew as a man and continued to set an example of integrity for all who knew him, especially his boys.
“Goose” was a likable man who rarely met a stranger. He enjoyed the simple things that life offered and never complained much. He was a natural born outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. C. L. was a retired employee of Georgia Pacific in Gurdon, Arkansas.
In his 70th season of life C. L. passed into the Lord’s embrace on Sunday, December 22, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Annie Allen Williams. He is now added to His great and blessed family in the world beyond our vision, a place not made by human hands, a place we call Heaven.
He leaves memories in the hearts of his beloved wife Dorothy Lock Allen of Arkadelphia; three sons, Michael (LaTanya) Allen of Arkadelphia, Calvin (Kristene) Allen of Arkadelphia, and DaShawn Allen of Arkadelphia; four grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Allen of Arkadelphia, Rosia (Sheldon) Davis of Manchester, AR; five brothers, Williams “Bill” Allen of Hot Springs, AR, D.
