Curline Russell was born into time on March 21, 1931 to the union of Floyd Augusta and Etta Mae Edmondson Russell in Burtsell, Arkansas.
She accepted Christ at a young age and was a member of St. Clair Baptist Church in Burtsell. She attended Simmons High School and worked picking cotton and babysitting.
She later moved to Arkadelphia where she met and married Cleo Cummings.
She worked as a cook at the Co-Ed Café and loved sewing, fishing and cooking.
She was a member of Gennesaret Baptist Church where she was active with the WMU and attended bible study on a regular basis until her health began to fail.
In her 77th season on Thursday, July 10, 2008, Curline was born into eternity and now rests in the arms of Jesus.
Those to welcome her home was her husband, Cleo Cummings, one daughter, Sally Mae Lockett, three brothers and two sisters.
Those left to cherish her memories are: her daughter Eva Mae Williams of Arkadelphia, and a grandson Gerry Hendrix of Arkadelphia. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the Gennsaret Missionary Baptist Church family.
Mrs. Cummings will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday, July 18, 2008, from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
The last farewell will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of Gennesaret Missionary Baptist Church, 1751 Logan Street, Arkadelphia where Rev. Charles D. Hood is the pastor and will preach a message of hope.
The committal service and earthly resting place will be at Rome Cemetery in Burtsell, Arkansas.
The active bearers will be Calvin Russell, Antonio Lomack, Patrick Lomack, Danny Hart, Thomas Ray McPeak, and Johnny Smith. The honorary bearers will be Andy Hatley, Bobby Ray Collins, John Oliver Allen, Billy Ray Helms, John E. Cummings and Darrell Simpson.
