Vance Dale Balch

Vance Dale Balch was born into time on September 10, 1980, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to James Terry Balch and Bertha Mae Giles. “Dale” as he was commonly called fortunate to be a part of the Giles family and the Balch family. Being a member of both he was blessed with an abundance of life, laughter and support. Having so many brothers and sisters there was never a need for lots of friends. Dale grew up to be a handsome young man and showed himself to be friendly. He never met a stranger as was known as a trusted friend. He grew up n Gurdon, Arkansas and attended Eastern Star Baptist Church in the Smithton Community and he spent a lot of time in Arkadelphia. Although Dale didn’t complete high school, he received his GED and was a talented and gifted mechanic. He spent countless hours working on cars. He was known for sporting his rims and always kept a clean “whip”. Dale was about that “paper” and he believed in hard work. He never waited for a handout, he was known to be a “go getter”. Dale enjoyed of sports and music. He was that cool, laid-back friend who had a great sense of humor and knew how to have a good time. Dale was an outstanding father. He took his role as father to heart. When he met Tamesha he accepted her children as his own and loved them with no limits. He and Tamesha later had a son, Dale Von. Being a young father wasn’t always easy, but Dale took it in stride and stepped up his game when he asked Tamesha to become his wife. They were married on August 24, 2012 and now his family was complete. In his 34th season of life he surrendered his soul on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Arkansas Hospice in Hot Springs, Arkansas with his wife at his side. Family, as well as friends, will miss his quiet strength, smile and love, but will never forget his spirit and his eagerness to be about that “paper“. He lived life to the fullest, and there was never a dull moment when Dale was around. Dale was welcomed to his eternal home by his mother, Bertha Mae Giles (2007), his father Terry Balch (2011); his siblings, Jacobbi Balch (2011), Terry Dionne Giles (2012), Nicole McCauley, Shalonda Balch, Bernard Balch and Roshonda Balch. His sister Tara Balch Ware passed into the Lord’s embrace on Monday, November 17, 2014. His grandparents Tyree and Isabella Balch and Willie and Susie M. Osborn Giles, Sr. Vance Dale Balch will live forever in the hearts of his wife, Tamesha Smith Balch of Ypsilanti, MI; his children, Stormy Balch, Dale Balch, Dale Von Balch; his step-children whom he loved and cherished as his own, Brianna Smith, Alasha Smith and Rickayla Smith; his step-mother, Alice Faye Balch of Arkadelphia, AR; sisters, Kathy Balch, Laura (Pierre) Hunter, and Teresa Arnold all of Arkadelphia, AR, Debra (Herman) Monroe of Dallas, TX, and Tonya (John) Jordan of Virginia Beach, VA; and Faytisa Balch of Arkadelphia, AR; brothers, James (Andrea) Giles of Prescott, AR, Terry D. Giles of Lansing, MI, Anthony Balch, Ethan Balch, and James Terry Balch, Jr. all of Arkadelphia, AR; Michael Balch of Gurdon, AR and Timothy Balch of Jacksonville, AR, Elgin Balch, and Torrey-James Balch both of Hampton, AR, Eric Traylor, Keith Traylor both of Malvern, AR, Thurand (Theresa) Flowers of Austin, TX, Dion Balch both of Lansing, MI; two special friends, Wheatie Wells and Corey Davis both of Arkadelphia, AR; aunts, Diana Quarles, Marilyn Johnson, Elvalyne Scott ad Pam Mitchell; uncles, Larry Giles, Richard Giles, Roy Lee Giles, Ray Charles Giles, Joe Willie Giles and Willie Giles, Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. Public visitation will be Friday, November 21, 2014 at the funeral home from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. The last farewell and tributes to his life will be shared on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church with Presiding Elder James H. Giles, Sr., officiating. Interment in Rose Hedge Cemetery.
