Jeremy Jamaal Buckley

Jeremy Jamaal Buckley was born into time on December 14, 1982, in Gurdon, Arkansas to Freddie and Eula “Lil Sis” Davis Buckley. Jeremy was a loving child growing up and was lovingly known to irritate his brothers and sisters. “Jay” was raised by his aunt Josephine, who loved him as her own son. He grew up in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and was a 2001 graduate of Arkadelphia Senior High School. He was member of the badger basketball team. Jeremy united with Gennesaret Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Charles Hood. He married his high school sweetheart, Veronica on June 30, 2004 and to this union a daughter was born. He always wore a sneaky grin on his face and kept everyone laughing. He liked sports, but enjoyed playing basketball, keeping up with the latest fashion and shoes. He loved to “talk noise” and had a way of making everybody like him. Jeremy later moved to Benton where he worked as an employee at Timber Ridge in Benton, Arkansas. Jeremy was a hard worker and tried to come home as often as he could. On his last and final visit home Jay traded time for eternity on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. He was preceded in death by his mother Eula “Lil Sis” Newborn (2006). Family, as well as friends, will miss Jay’s presence. Although his death leaves a void his memory will live forever in the hearts of his wife, Veronica Tapia Buckley of Dallas, TX; his daughter, Kholee Buckley of Dallas, TX; his parents, Freddie and Marilyn Buckley of Arkadelphia, AR; Josephine Morris of Arkadelphia the aunt who raised him; his god son, Tyron Hughes of Arkadelphia, AR; his siblings, James (Rhea Claire) Newborn of Hot Springs, AR, Donald Williams of Antioch, CA, Glinda Nicole (Carl) Daniels of Arkadelphia, AR, Freda (Nick) Perry of Arkadelphia, AR, Leilani (Romaric) Awadjihe of Arkadelphia, AR, Rosetta Buckley of Arkadelphia, AR, Erica (Duringus) Gray of Arkadelphia, AR, Brittley (Brice Brown) Newborn of Arkadelphia, AR; Jeff Butler of Los Angeles, CA, Randy (Deidra) Morris of Benton, AR, Teresa (Davis) Mitchell of Benton, AR and Danyelle Morris of Arkadelphia, AR; his aunts, Polly Mae Brim of Arkadelphia, AR, Beulah Wiley of Chicago, Il, Beverly (Preston) Johnson of Little Rock, AR, Treasie (Jeff) Utsey of Arkadelphia, AR and Belinda (Earl) Bailey of Arkadelphia, AR; his uncles, Joseph Davis, Timothy (JoAnn) Buckley, Ollie (Mable) Buckley, Alfred (Shirley) Scott, Clarence Buckley ("Yank" his special uncle), Carl (Marsha) Buckley, Michael Buckley, Greg (Valarie) Buckley, Charles (Margaret) Buckley and Roy (Donna) Buckley all of Arkadelphia, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, a special cousin, Gyronne Buckley, Jr., other cousins and special friends, William Owens, Tyrone Summerville, and Devon Smith and numerous other friends. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at Gennesaret Baptist Church. The last farewell and tributes to his life will be shared on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Gennesaret Baptist Church with Rev. Frederick Smith, officiating. Interment in Piney Grove Cemetery.
