Lencola Nixon Murray

September 28, 1980 — January 10, 2015

For everything there is an appointed season, and a time for everything under Heaven ... A Time To Be Born: On September 26, 1980 was the appointed time for a daughter, Lencola C. Nixon to be born of Arlinda Nixon and Charles Gulley, in Prescott, AR. Later she was adopted by grandparents, Leon and Hazel Nixon. A Time Of Loving: In December 10, 2003, she gave birth to a daughter, Latavia Monec’ Nixon. On September 6, 2013 she united in marriage to Joseph E. Murray and to this union one child was born, Pansy Arlinda Murray. A Time of Sharing, Caring, Giving & Remembering: Lencola attended the Prescott Schools and loved study- ing and being positive. She graduated from Prescott High School in May of 1998 as an honor roll student. She was employed with Prescott Manor Nursing Center for ten years as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She loved caring for the elderly and spending time with them. She accepted Christ early in life where she was a member as well as a choir member of Prescott Church of God under the leadership of Pastor Lee Thomas until his death, she than served under the leadership of Pastor Ricky Gamble until God called her home. Lencola would like the memories of her to be happy ones. She would like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. Remembering the happy times, laughing times, bright and sunny days. She had some good days and many bad days, but all of her good days far outweighed the bad days. She endured many adversities in her life but her belief in God sustained her. She was never a lavish person but always made sure that her family was taken care of. She loved to cook and share with others. She loved making people laugh. If you knew her you would know that her favorite saying was “Good Night” and her nickname was “Piggy”. She enjoyed spending her life with her husband, children and family. A Time For Parting: Lencola answered the call from God on January 10, 2015 at 7:40 a.m. at St. Michael’s Christian Hospital in Texarkana, TX. A cloud of witnesses that have completed the journey before her: birth mother: Arlinda; adopted parents: Hazel and Leon Nixon; aunt/sister: Sarah Johnson; uncles/brothers: Thomas and Donald Nixon; grandparents: Richard Woodley, Margaret Scott, William Gulley and Theola Gulley Purifoy. A Time For Rejoicing: We mourn the loss of Lencola, but not as those who have no hope. Her memories that have been made and shared will be kept near by her husband: Joseph Murray; children: Latavia Nixon and Pansy Murray of Prescott, AR; her father: Charles E. Gulley of Prescott, AR; her sister: Ingrid (Jimmie) Manigo of Prescott, AR; adopted sisters: Mary Railey and Jerri Elaina Maze both of Prescott, AR; Wilma McNeil of At- lanta, GA, Lucy Nixon of Vallejo, CA, Brenda (Dwight) Sloan, Iris Carter, both of San Diego, CA; her brother: Charles L. Gulley (Brittney) of Dallas, TX; adopted brothers: Leon (Corrita) Nixon of Atlanta, GA, John (Pam) Nixon of Prescott, AR; a play sister: Tameka Flenory; special friend: Shanetta Scott; numerous nieces and nephews, a host of aunts and uncles and cousins. Submitted by the Nixon-Murray Family Service of Celebration will be held Saturday, January 17, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at Prescott Church of God.
