On September 8, 1966, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin George L. and Betty Hunter Holliman welcomed the birth of a son whom they named George, Jr.
Later the family relocated to Malvern, Arkansas. There George accepted Christ at a tender age and united with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church family in Malvern, Arkansas.
George was a care-free and fun spirit. He was a 1984 graduate of Malvern High School.
On November 30, 2008 in his 42nd season George was born into eternity at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford, IL.
His life will never be forgotten by his sons: John Crites of Malvern, AR, and Jonah Gould of Rockford, IL; his parents George Holliman, Sr., of Chidester, AR, and Betty Hunter Smith of Arkadelphia, AR; his sisters, Joyce Lender of Rockford, IL, and Aretha Choates of Jonesboro, GA; his brothers, James Holliman of Rockford, IL, Guy Holliman and Clayton Holliman of Chidester, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, numerous cousins and several friends.
He also leaves his aunts, Elizabeth Jackson of Malvern, AR, Cora Roberts of Federal Way, WA, Berdina Palmer of Rockford, IL, Annie Gray of Milwaukee, WI, Maxine Maxwell of Milwaukee, WI, Emma Moss of Camden, AR, and Geraline Gulley of Chidester, AR; his uncles Lee Otis Box, Jr., of Arkadelphia, AR, and Bennie Holliman of Camden, AR.
A Tribute to the life of George Lester Holliman, Jr., will be held at 2:00p.m. in the Sanctuary of New Director Baptist Church, Malvern, Arkansas on Saturday, December 13, 2008. Rev. Charles L. Dobbins, the pastor and eulogist will preach a message of comfort.
The committal service and earthly resting place will be at Good Hope Cemetery in Chidester, Arkansas.
Bearers of the casket will be Eric Moss, Clifford Fears, Rakikus Hence, Deangelo Gray, Larry Curry and Charles Owens. The honorary bearers of the casket will be James Holliman, Guy Holliman, and Clayton Holliman.
