Clara Ann Bowie was born on August 10, 1964, in Waldo, Arkansas to the union of Earnest and Clara Mae Rogers Bowie. Clara was fun-loving and caring. She was a 1982 graduate of Gurdon High School. She furthered her education at the Little Rock Job Corp Training Center.
She was a hard worker and worked countless jobs to take care of Byron and Sharalle. “Ann” as she was lovingly called worked at Riverwood Nursing Home, Petit Jean Poultry and Wal-Mart Supercenter in both Arkadelphia and Hot Springs.
Ann had a big heart. She “meant” what she said” and “said” what she meant”. She was outspoken and one never had to wonder what she thought or how she felt. While living in Arkadelphia she united with the Gennesaret Baptist Church Family under the leadership of Rev. Frederick Smith.
On Thursday, April 2, 2015, she passed from time into eternity. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father Earnest Bowie, daughter, her sister Catherine D. Washington who made her transition on March 16, 2015, three aunts, one uncle and one cousin.
She leaves to remember her wonderful life; two sons, Byron (Maranda) Bowie of Prescott and Sharalle Bowie of Gurdon, AR; two grandchildren, Bryson and Myriah Bowie of Prescott, AR; her mother, Clara Mae Rogers Cummings and her stepfather, John Henry Cummings of Gurdon; her siblings, Larry Rome of Denton, TX, Lorraine Bowie, Yolanda (Melvin) McCloud all of Gurdon, Lori Williams of Arkadelphia and Vincent (Tawana) Cummings of Hot Springs; two uncles, Louis Rogers of Gurdon and Terry Rogers of Arkadelphia. Clara Ann also leaves a host of nieces, nephews; several cousins, a special friend Mrs. Jean Peoples of Gurdon and other innumerable friends.
Funeral services will be held at Kingdom Authority in Gurdon on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11am. Elder Chester Mitchell, Eulogist. Public visitation will be Friday, April 10, 2015 from 2-7pm. The family will receive friends from 6-7pm on Friday, April 10, 2015.
