Craig Oliver Greene was born in Camden, Arkansas on August 27, 1960 to John Thomas Greene and Onie B. Broomfield Wilborn. He confessed his faith in Christ at a tender age. “Lucky” as he was known grew up to be a handsome and intelligent young man. He attended Hot Springs High School and later completed his course work in auto mechanics.
He met Jacqueline “Jackie” Brim and after a brief courtship they were married. Although they had no children together, he loved Jackie’s as his own. He worked hard and made many sacrifices to take care of his family. Craig was not only a father to his children, but he was a father to all. He would offer words of encouragement if he felt the person was in need. He not only “talked the talk”, he “walked the walk.”
Craig possessed a strong work ethic. He used his skilled hands to repair, fix and replace parts on several cars. When not working at Golden’s Garage in Arkadelphia, he was the “go-to” man for after hour repairs. He could be found any day spending countless hours under someone’s hood. Craig proudly proclaimed that he was too good to be a labeled as a “shade tree” mechanic. His reputation for proficient and timely work was widely known.
His hobbies included working on cars, watching sports, and fishing. He enjoyed listening to the blues, grilling and just having a good time. Craig was the life of the party. One of his greatest joys was spending memorable moments with relatives and friends, both young and old. He loved the idea of family togetherness and was a longtime member of the Soul Star Motorcycle Club of Hot Springs. “Lucky” will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and friends. He possessed a friendly spirit and never met a stranger. He meant what he said, and said what he meant. His natural wit and humor could chase the chill from any room. He preached kindness, respect of self and others.
He was preceded in transition by his mother who passed into the Lord’s embrace on Monday, May 4, 2014. On Tuesday, April 7, 2015 in his 54th season of life, he began his eternal celebration in a land that shall never grow old.
He leaves to forever remember his legacy: his wife, Jacqueline “Jackie” Brim Greene; his father, John Thomas Greene; sons, Christopher Greene and Craig Oliver Greene, Jr.; his other children, Britany (Shain) Jackson, Curtis Jones, and Denise Perry; five grandchildren; siblings, Henry Lee Wilborn, Annie Rea Williams, Dorthine Edwards (Larry) Bonner, James (Princess) Woods, Cedric Greene, Alice Marie Greene and Stephanie Wilborn; a special uncle, Odell Broomfield; his in-laws, Leasha Taylor, Freda (Martin) Newborn, and Reginald Brim; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and numerous friends.
“Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the saints salute you. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.” II Corinthians 13:11-14
