Kim Dewayne Mitchell

January 3, 1966 — September 22, 2015

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14: 1-6 KJV This story began for Kim Dewayne Mitchell when he was born on January 3, 1966, to Demetrica and Robert Charles Mitchell in Curtis, AR– as a little boy he was always curious and an independent child. He accepted Christ as his Savior at a young age and was a member of Mt. Friendship Baptist Church. Kim was an avid hunter and will be missed in Curtis, because he never missed a hunting season. He graduated from Arkadelphia High School, where he excelled as an athlete. Kim’s height and endurance allowed him to play on the 1981 Arkadelphia State Champion football team and also exceeded in baseball as well. Many Arkadelphia Badger football fans remember Kim as one of the best running backs that came through the Arkadelphia School District. Kim wanted to ensure he provided a good life for his family, moving the family to Ft. Worth, Texas. There he worked for CFAM Financial and was a great asset to the company and will be truly missed. Believing God’s Word, “….and the two shall become one flesh” Stacy and Kim were joined in union. Kim’s greatest joy was sharing family time with his wife and children Krista, Zane and Matt. He also loved his mother very much. She would call him her big bald head baby. Family, as well as friends, will miss his strength, smile and love, but will never forget his spirit and compassion. He lived life to the fullest, and there was never a dull moment when Kim was around. Kim will be welcomed to his eternal home by: his father, Robert Charles Mitchell, his maternal grandparents Pearlie Middleton & Willie Middleton, paternal grandparents Gracie Goza , James Goza & Richard Mitchell. Those left to forever cherish his love, sense of humor and laughter are: his wife, Stacy Mitchell of Ft. Worth, Texas; his mother, Demetrica Huey of Lancaster, CA, two handsome sons, Zane Mitchell of Fayetteville, AR , Matt Mitchell of Ft. Worth, Texas; his beautiful daughter, Krista Mitchell of Dallas, TX, his precious granddaughter Gabrielle Small, his sister, Annette (Ronald) of Palmdale, CA, & his nieces, Rakia and Rakyah Harris of Palmdale, CA . He also leaves a caravan of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, numerous friends. A Celebration of his life will be shared on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Friendship Baptist Church, Curtis with Rev. Earl Graham, officiating and Rev. Johnny Harris, eulogist. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in Mt. Friendship Cemetery. Click here to download and view printed program
