Bonnie Faye Huddleston was born in Griffithtown “Bobo” Community of Arkadelphia, Arkansas on July 17, 1958, the third child of R. J. and Ginger Ella Williams Huddleston.
Bonnie confessed her faith in Christ at an early and united with Piney Grove A.M.E. Church. Her parents taught her the values of honesty, truth and the importance of education. She attended school in Arkadelphia, and was a 1976 graduate of Arkadelphia High School. It was there she created lasting friendships with faculty and students alike. Bonnie was quiet, but jovial and she loved a good laugh. After graduating from high school she enrolled at Ouachita Vocational Technical College in Malvern where she earned a Associate’s degree in Business Administration in 1978.
She worked as a Residential Care Supervisor at the Arkadelphia Human Development Center. She was a great leader and an encouragement to everyone she met. She poured generously out her remaining years serving the residents at the AHDC. She also worked as a part-time employee of Super Wal-Mart.
Bonnie united with Gennsaret Missionary Baptist Church in 1991 under the leadership of Rev. Edwin Morgne and later Rev. Charles D. Hood. She always enjoyed Christian fellowship and served with the mass choir and YMU. She enjoyed being with the youth; serving as a youth sponsor and assisting with the culinary ministry when she was needed. She delighted in spending quality time and spoiling with her grandson, Zane. She had a loving, fun-spirited and charming personality. Bonnie enjoyed family “get-togethers” and being in the company of her close friends.
As her health began to fail, her sister Gloria stepped in to assist Ashley with providing loving care. Zane shared responsibility to ensure her quality of life. If you retrace the footprints of her life, one can only give thanks for the many lives she touched and enriched along her life’s journey.
Surrounded by her daughter, grandson and sister, she passed into the Lord’s embrace on Sunday, October 25, 2015. Bonnie was preceded in death by her before mentioned parents, as well as, her grandparents, Leroy Williams, Mary Lee Reed, Jo Ella Davis, Roosevelt “Yobi” Davis, Sr, and her grandson, Zaiden Gabriel Adams (2013).
