Eddie Marie Kincaid

Eddie Marie Ivory Kincaid was born on September 25, 1938, to the late Edward and Esther Browning Ivory in Gums Springs, Arkansas. She departed this life on March 4, 2016 at Baylor –Garland Hospital in Garland, Texas. Eddie united with the St. Ruth Baptist Church at an early age and was active in various capacities in the church. Most notably, she was the musician for the choir for several years. Eddie joined Forest Avenue Baptist Church more than fifty years ago, and remained a faithful member until her health prevented her from attending regularly. She enjoyed singing in the choir and took her relationship with the Lord seriously. Eddie was a gifted musician, and played the clarinet, French horn and piano. She loved to cook and experiment with new gourmet dishes. She was educated in a small community school before entering and graduating in 1956 from Peake High School in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. After graduating from high school, Eddie moved to Dallas, Texas and held several jobs. She worked in sales, food service, clerical and management. Eddie met Emery Kincaid, the love of her life, while in Texas. She married Emery Kincaid and lived happily until his passing. Emery was a quiet and gentle man who demonstrated his love for Eddie in many ways. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, three sisters; Bobbie Dowling, Marilyn Cook and Mary Pike; and one brother, James Ivory. Eddie was also preceded in death by three stepbrothers and two step-sisters. Eddie Marie leaves those to remember and cherish her memories; one brother, Meldene Ivory (Brenda) of Gum Springs, AR; and one sister, Carolyn Owens of North Little Rock, AR; a godson, Trenton Cooksey of North Little Rock, AR; stepbrothers, Oliver Tate (Shirley) of Wichita Falls, TX, Donald Tate (Debra) of Los Angeles, CA; stepsisters, Lauretta Tate and Essie Jackson of Gum Springs, AR, Gurtha Duncan of Mt. Pine, AR, Dorothy Butler of Portland, OR, and Elverna Tate of Los Angeles, CA; a special friends Alice Pruitt of Dallas, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Submitted by the Ivory Family A celebration of her life will be shared at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016 at St. Ruth Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas D. Hale, officiating/eulogist. Interment will be in Gum Springs Cemetery.
