Gerald Campbell

April 13, 1966 — June 8, 2016

Gerald Campbell was born in Clark County, Arkansas on April 13, 1966 to Clinton Bullock and James Jones. He was raised by his James Campbell, who loved him as his first born son. Being raised as the oldest son, James instilled into Gerald the value of hard work. Gerald learned all of his mechanical trade and engine repair by sitting at the foot of James. He joined Piney Grove AME Church during his youth and would visit from time to time. Gerald was an active young man and loved to use his hands to fix on things. He was a 1984 graduate of McClellan High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. It was because of the knowledge and skilled he learned as a young man that Gerald found work repairing engines. He possessed a strong work ethic and was a faithful employee of Southwest Bike in Little Rock for several years. His reputation for proficient and timely work was known throughout all of Little Rock. He met Clarassi Braggs and after a brief courtship they married on April 14, 2013. His children were his pride and joy. He taught them to follow the golden rule --" treat others as they would want to be treated”. Gerald loved family, friends and enjoying life. Gerald lived life to the fullest; his life was simple, but not empty. He leaves to remember and cherish his moments on earth: his wife, Clarassi of Arkadelphia; his parents, Clinton (James) Campbell of Arkadelphia and James (Jennifer) Jones of Griffithtown; five children, Gerald Wilburn of Phoenix, AZ, Gervant Campbell, Devante Campbell both of Hot Springs, Vonterrious Campbell of Arkadelphia and DeShae Campbell of Benton; three sisters, Delois Campbell of Arkadelphia, Cindy Jones of Los Angeles and Pamala Howard of Mt. Pine, AR; seven brothers, Bobby Campbell, Mike (Treva) Campbell, Kirk (Tiffany) Campbell, Kenny Ray Campbell, James (Lachelle) Jones, Robert E. Jones all of Arkadelphia and Phillip Edwards of Texarkana, TX; two step-sisters, McKenzie Gardner, Lasha Thornton; and one step-brother, Jeremiah Thornton. He also leaves his aunts, Marie Reed, Noia Claxton, Cynthia Bullock, Margaret Bullock, JoAnn Bullock, Servada Berry, Rosie Edwards, Nellie Todd, Mary Reed, Norma Williams and Evonne McNeil; his uncles, Roland Bullock, Willie L. Jones and Kenny W. McNeil; a host of nieces, nephews, several cousins, his best friend, Carl Daniels and numerous other friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Cedric James Jones. On Wednesday, June 8, 2016, he entered into eternal rest with his family at his side. Public visitation will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. A service of celebration will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Greater Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church where Dr. Lewis A.
