George Washington Neal, Jr., was the 2nd child born to the union of George W. Neal, Sr., and Jearldine Marshall Neal. He grew up in a close knit family surrounded by the love of his sisters and brothers. “Junior” as he was fondly called was an active and outgoing kid. He enjoyed sports and made friends easily. Family, as well as, friends was drawn to his outgoing personality. During his early childhood Junior accepted Christ and was baptized. He attended Fordyce High School and although he didn’t complete high school he developed lasting friendships with the Class of 1981. He always pushed for his step-children, nieces and nephews alike the get an education. Junior was no stranger to hard work having worked at the Bearden Lumber Company and for years at Big Bens Salvage Yard.
Junior married Stellar Mae Brown and he cherished her children as his own. He lived life to the fullest, and there was never a dull moment when he was around. He was a wonderful husband father, brother, uncle and friend. His interest included fishing, cooking and gardening. Those who were fortunate to know him will miss his smile; his love, but will never forget his quiet spirit.
He was not a man of many words, but of few words and of many virtues. He was a good man and loved cracking jokes. He kept someone always laughing. Though his stay seemed so brief, his memories will last a lifetime. Because love is far greater than death, he departs this earth in body only. He leaves lasting impressions in the hearts and minds of his wife, Stellar Neal of Fordyce, AR; his mother, Jeraldine Neal of Camden, AR; his step-mother, Bertha Neal of Fordyce, AR; two step-daughters, Sheryl Mason (Donnie) of Little Rock, AR, Danielle Brown of Fordyce, AR; three step-sons, Chris Lawson, Dansell Lawson and Cardean Lawson all of Fordyce, AR; one sister, Sarah Ann Neal of Fordyce, AR; two brothers, Bobby Ray Neal of Grady, AR and Billy Ray Neal (Rithea) of Fordyce, AR; three nephews, three nieces, fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves a wealth of great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins, classmates, his caregiver Susan Wilson and friends. “Junior” surrendered his soul to Christ Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas.
