Gregory Franciosia Robinson was born on June 23, 1965, to Glen and Gloria Jean Haygood Robinson in Ouachita County, Arkansas. His parents by example taught Christian values, integrity and ingenuity that resulted in a solid and loving family environment. He confessed his faith in Christ at a young age and united with Shady Grove Baptist Church. He was a 1983 graduate of Harmony Grove High School where he excelled as a student and in basketball. He played the shooting guard position in high school and was known to be the best in the area. He built lasting friendships with other students, faculty and staff. By far he was one of the most popular students that walked the halls of Harmony Grove. In his leisure time he played city league basketball for Camden and they won several championships. He Greg grew up to be a handsome and intelligent young man. People were drawn to his friendly smile and down to earth personality. Greg met Brenda Juniel and they married on August 2, 1986. The young couple settled in Camden and began their life together. Greg was no doubt a family man and took his role as father seriously. His children were his pride and joy. He meant what he said, and said what he meant. His natural wit and humor could never be duplicated. He taught them to follow the golden rule --" treat others as they would want to be treated”. He later united with Zion Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Chester Thompson. Greg understood the importance and impact of modeling the lifestyle of a Christian black man. He gave special attention to the youth in his church. He served as Youth Leader for Boy’s, Sunday school teacher for the youth boy’s and he sung in the male chorus. He gave his all in helping others by loving his neighbors and just being there in time of need. He not only “talked the talk”, he “walked the walk.”He was truly one of a kind and those who really knew him were able to experience the genuineness of his love. He was a hard worker and modeled the scripture 2 Thessalonians 3:10 "If anyone doesn't want to work, he shouldn't eat." He worked as a Leadman with Areojet in Camden for 11 years until his health started to decline. In his spare time or when not working, he was the “go-to” man for car detail job. He could be found any day spending countless hours detailing. His reputation for detailed and timely work was widely known throughout Bearden, Camden and the surrounding area. His hobbies included watching sports and his favorite teams were the Lakers and Razorbacks. One of his greatest joys was spending memorable moments with relatives and friends, both young and old. He will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and friends. He possessed a friendly spirit and never met a stranger. As the end neared, he held tight to his beliefs as a Christian. He departed this earthly journey Monday, October 24, 2016 with his family by his side. His living was not in vain.
