Taulese Opal Pierce Greene of Malvern made her transition from earth to eternity on Saturday morning, December 17th from the Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Little Rock. She was born on May 4, 1921, the only child of Lillion and Seacie Banks Pierce of Curtis, Arkansas. She finished high school in Dardanelle at a school where her uncle, T.C. Pierce, was the principal. In 1941 she was awarded the Associate of Arts degree from Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock. On May 29, 1959, she received her Bachelor of Science degree from A.M. & N. College in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Mrs. Greene held teaching positions in several communities in Arkansas including: Foreman, Boughton, Ashdown and Curtis. For several years she taught in Hot Spring County at Rockport Elementary, Tuggle Elementary, Annie A. Wilson High School (Home Economics), Malvern Senior High (Science and Health), and Malvern Junior High (Home Economics). She retired spring of 1978. On July 3, 1949, she married Hubert Greene of Malvern, Arkansas. In July of 1999, they celebrated 50 years of marriage together before Reverend Greene’s passing in November of that same year. She united with the First Baptist Church of Rockport and actively served in the Church Music Ministry as pianist for over 35 years and as organist. She was active in the Women’s Missionary Society and Southwest District Association. Mrs. Greene is survived by her daughter, Patricia L. Griffen (Wendell) of Little Rock and sons, Andrew Greene of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, and Edward Aaron Greene (LaTonia) of Avondale, Arizona. She is also survived by four grandsons (Chase Greene of Los Angeles, California, Martyn Griffen of Silver Springs, MD, DC, Elliott Griffen of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Pierce Greene of Avondale, Arizona. Additionally she is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. A Life of Remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at New Millennium Church, 21 Lakeshore Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas. The Reverend Wendell Griffen will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that a living legacy be made in memory of Mrs. Taulese O. Greene, Class of 1941, Arkansas Baptist College Foundation -1621 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Little Rock, AR 72202. Interment will follow at Paradise Memorial Gardens in Malvern.
