Louis Dean “Sugar Boy” Rogers was born into time on August 12, 1946 in Waldo, Arkansas to the union of Louis Dean and Siller Beasley Rogers. He attended Waldo High School and was a former employee of Taylor Brothers, Anthony Higgs, Fafner, Petit Jean Poultry and the Senior Adult Center in Gurdon until he retired. He attended Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and Mt. Canaan Baptist Church from time to time. “Sugar Boy” had a great sense of humor and there was never a dull moment when he was around. He loved to “shoot the breeze” and hangout under the “shed”. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes. His irreplaceable spirit and personality will be forever missed. He passed on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at his home in Magnolia, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Mae Rogers, Rosie Rogers, and Clara Cummings; and one brother, Lossie Rogers, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter; Pamela Young of Sparkman, AR; two grandchildren, Preston Paden and LaShalla Paden of Sparkman, AR; and one brother, Terry Rogers, Sr., of Arkadelphia, AR. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; his best friends Billy Earl Lidge and Wanda Prim both of Gurdon, AR and other extended family members and friends.
