Charlene Ann Beavers Tolliver was born March 4, 1936 to the late Charles, Sr., and Pearlene Pickens Beavers in Piney Grove, Arkansas.
She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of the Church of Christ in Antoine, Arkansas. She attended faithfully until her health failed. She attended Rosenwald School in Delight, Arkansas and Simmons School in Okolona, Arkansas.
Charlene was employed by the Delight Public School District and retired after 21 years of dedicated service. She also worked as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant for a number of years at the Guest House Nursing Home in Nashville, Arkansas until its closing.
This incredible woman found a way to leave an indelible mark on the life of every person she touched. She loved fishing, gardening, and taking care of everyone. She enjoyed preparing delicious meals for visitors in her home and had a gift of hospitality. She never met a stranger and her smile could warm the coldest room.
On April 7, 1962, she married Louis Tolliver and they were blessed to love and raise eight wonderful children. She and her husband created a powerful team; they were committed to God, had strong family values. Their home was the gathering place for friends, relatives, church visitors and so many others.
In her 80th season of life on February 16, 2017, she quietly slept into the Lord's embrace with her family by her side. She was preceded in her passing by her parents; her husband, Louis; two sisters, Gracie B. Beavers Gentry and Sarah Beavers Thompson; four brothers, George M. Beavers, Jimmie L. Beavers, Charles Beavers, Jr., and Frank Beavers; and two grandchildren, Craig Lavell Beavers and Daniel Tolliver.
Her radiant smile shined like a beacon of light in darkness and she brought joy into the lives of all she touched. Though she is no longer with us in body and her irreplaceable presence will be deeply missed. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all those who were impacted by the beautiful life she lived.
She leaves her beloved children: Gary Richardson, Larry (Amanda) Beavers and James Tolliver all of Hot Springs, AR; Craig Beavers of Nashville, AR, Shirley (Troy) Gentry, Winston (Melissa) Tolliver and Sharon Tolliver all of Delight, AR; Eric (DeShun) Tolliver of Shreveport, LA, whom she cherished as her son; a grandson whom she raised from birth, Marcus Gentry of Delight, AR; two sisters, Earnestine Williams of Hot Springs, AR and Roberta Gentry of Delight, AR; twenty-eight grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She also leaves to relish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who were all special to her.
