Wendy Kay, the twin daughter of Eugene and Willie Mae Martin Harvell was born into this life five minutes before her sister Wilma on September 3, 1969 in Nevada County, Arkansas. She grew up in a loving home with her twin sister, Wilma, her brother Chris and her twin brothers, Jackie and Jerry. As a little girl she was baptized and united with First Baptist Church in Okolona, Arkansas under the pastorate of Rev. G.H. Jones. As a youth she served as an usher, choir member and helped in the kitchen. She was an exemplary student at Okolona High School and played the post position for the girl’s basketball team. She graduated in 1987; the last class before consolidation and she later attended Henderson State University. She was very outgoing and made friends with all races. Wendy knew the value and worth of being a true friend. She loved being in the company of family and friends; and was often the center of attention. Wendy was the fun-loving friend whom others always wanted to be around. She was about business but knew how to have a good time. She enjoyed fishing, shopping and softball games. Her favorite teams were the Arkansas Razorback and the Dallas Cowboys. She was a good cook, but quit cooking when her kids got “grown and gone”. She married Enoch Arnold, Jr., on August 27, 1999 and this union produced a blended family of 8 children and she gave birth to twin sons. She adored her family and loved them all. She was their number one fan and could be seen in the stands cheering them on. Her children often looked to her for advice and they knew that she would “tell it like it is”. Wendy began her career working at Morse Automotive as a supervisor for 16 years and later at Georgia Pacific for 11 years. She worked hard even as her health started to decline, she managed to be on time and complete her work. She fought a tough and courageous battle while yet managing to simply smile. She greeted life and its circumstances with a style and grace all of her own. In the last season of her life on Sunday, April 2, 2017, Wendy was blessed to share her transition with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Harvell (July 26, 1986) and a granddaughter, Triniti K. Arnold. (November 27, 2016) Though her transition leaves sorrow and a void; yet mingled with the sorrow are the smiles, the laughter and the memories. We will miss her, but we are happy that she woke up in Glory. We’ll see her again, and what a day that will be!
