On August 10, 1958, Roger and Annie Bell Miner Williams celebrated the birth of a son they named Robert Duane. He accepted Christ as young man and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was a 1976 graduate of Arkadelphia High School where he played football and excelled as a student.On February 4, 1977 he enlisted in the United States Army. He was a Hercules Missile Crewmember where he was proficient as a Rifle M16-Marksman and hand grenade expert. He was the recipient of the Army Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the Overseas Service Ribbon.He married Beverly “Susan” Jackson and to this union three children were born. He was a former employee of Brown Machinery and Hardman Lumber Company. He later united with Antioch Baptist Church where he was an active member.To know him was to love him and his presence will forever be missed. He passed into the Lord’s embrace on Sunday, July 9, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father; his mother, Annie Bell Williams (2015); his aunt, Grezella “Grace” Cummings (2012); his brother, David Williams and significant other Dorothy Oliver (2016). His memory has left indelible impressions in the hearts and minds of his children: Krista Williams of Okolona, AR, DeVetta Williams and Colin Williams both of Arkadelphia, AR; the mother of his children, Beverly “Susan” Williams of Arkadelphia, AR; his grandchildren, Malcolm Boddie, Khilah Gulley, Aniyah Gulley and Donovan Williams; one sister, Wanda (Floyd) Stephens of Arkadelphia, AR; five brothers, John Newborn of Arkadelphia, AR, James “Jacko” Williams of Arkadelphia, Joe C. Williams of Arkadelphia, Gary Williams of El Dorado and Raymond Miner of Arkadelphia. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, Carl Daniels, Kevin Oliver, Michael Oliver and a host of other friends.
