Eugene Henry was born August 24, 1924 in Strong, Arkansas (Union County) to Owen and Roberta Henry. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1943 and was honorable discharged in 1946. He received several decorations and citations: the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Ribbon, American Theatre Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars and 2 Overseas Bars. He married Mary Ethel Crayton and to this union four children were born. He enjoyed our family holidays and picnics. He was always proud of how the church lawn looked when he finished mowing and trimming. He worked for Reynolds Aluminum and Cade Lumber before retiring from International Paper. He was preceded in death by one sisters and six brothers. Eugene is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary Henry of Arkadelphia; his son and daughter-in-law, Otis Glenn Henry and Sadie of Little Rock; his daughter, Patsy Ollison of Gurdon; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jerry Ankton of Little Rock; daughter and son-in-law, Billie and Euodias Goza of Arkadelphia; his grandchildren, Trish and husband Byron Kincade, Jerrel Henry, Lefrich Henry, Michelle Goza, Carlos Ankton, Eugenia Cunningham, Andre Henry and wife Michelle; one sister, Gelmerine Kountz of Arkadelphia; two brothers, James Henry of Gurdon and Abraham Henry of Flint, Michigan and a host of great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
