God in His Infinite mercy viewed the long suffering of Willie. He looked down with compassion on His patient servant and we believe He dispatched an angel and said go with lighting speed and say to my feeble servant “enough.”
Mr. Willie Joe (Honey) Young was born on March 7, 1939 to the union of Jessie & Lillie Young of Okolona, Arkansas. He accepted Christ as his Savior at a young age and united with First Baptist Church of Okolona. He was very active in Sunday school, BTU and he attended Simmons High School in Okolona.
Willie united in Holy matrimony to Alene Marlow and to this union five children were born.
He later moved to Dierks where he worked at Dierks Forestry for several years. He also worked as a common laborer picking cotton, tomatoes and peaches.
Honey took flight for his eternal home on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Medical Park Hospital in Hope, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by three sisters Clency Brown, Daisy Mae Brown and Mattie Brown; and four brothers, Clyde young, Eddie Young, Jesse James Young and Charles "Hopie" Sorrells Young.
He leaves to forever cherish his memory: one daughter, Linda Young of Gurdon, AR; four sons, Willie Joe, Jr. (Emma) Young of Prescott, AR, Bobby Joe Young of Gurdon, AR, Lee Edward (Cynthia) Young of Arkadelphia, AR, and Charles Young of Blevins, AR; fourteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He also leaves five sisters, Lucille Turner of Palmdale, CA, Katie Richmond of Santa Marie, CA, Ivie Middleton of Arkadelphia, AR, Liddie M. Gill of Okolona, AR, and Lillie Mae Smith of Mineral Springs, AR; four brothers, Jesse (Charlene) Young of Las Vegas, NV, Sammy Young of Ashdown, AR, Bernie (Johnnie) Young of Ozan, AR, and Charlie (Margie) Young of Prescott, AR; one aunt, Verdie Pollins of Okolona, AR, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

Mr. Young will lie in state on Friday, October 23, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
The Homegoing Service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Okolona where Rev. Larry Mitchell is the pastor. Rev. Ivory Curry the pastor of Carrie Street Church of God will preach the homegoing message.
The committal service and final resting place will be in First Baptist Cemetery.
Bearers of the casket will be Decolen Prater, Calvin Russell, Ray Craven, Alvin Gill, Tevin Young, Willie Young and Paul Young.
Honorary bearers will be Willie Joe Young, Lee Edward Young, Bobby Joe Young, Charles Young, Charlie Young, Sammy Young, Bernie Young and Jesse Young.
