Charles F. Buckley, Sr., was born December 11, 1932 to the proud parents Roland and Tennie Buckley in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
Charles graduated from Peake High School and chose to seek his future by enlisting in the United States Navy.
With his Naval career progressing smoothly, Charles returned to Arkadelphia to ask his high school sweetheart, Bobbie Jean Ware, to be his wife. The couple relocated to California and began building their life while traveling between the many Naval stations inside the state.
Their years together blessed them with three children, Charles F. Buckley, Jr., Lllewellyn Lee Buckley and Kenneth Wayne Buckley.
Charles retired from the Naval service after 22 years at the Postgraduate school in Monterey, California. He and his family settled in the city of Marina, California, where they live to this day.
Charles was known by his many friends for his smile and upbeat personality and could always be counted on to lend a hand. He enjoyed the ocean. His passions included sports, fishing, gardening and supporting various charities serving military members.
Charles greatest love was the time spent with his grandchildren: Antonio, Christopher, Leah, Samaira and Jack.
Charles is survived by his wife Bobbie Jean; his brothers, Thomas, Willie,and Joseph; his sisters, Hattie and Ethel.

The Commital service and final resting place will be in Shady Grove Cemetery on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 1:00 p.m.
