Bobby Floyd Buckley was the 7th child born to James and Mary Maxine Hunter Buckley on June 5, 1958 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Bobby was baptized at a young age and united with the Mt. Morriah Baptist Church family. He was a 1976 graduate of Arkadelphia Sr. High School. Bobby was a self taught guitarist and bass player. On June 2, 1983 he moved west to California in search of better opportunities and a new way of life. He worked for the Los Angeles County Sanitation Department for over 28 years and worked as an OTR Professional Truck Operator II. He played the bass for Praise Center Sanctuary in Compton, California. His friends and colleagues remember him for his manner of speaking, his witty ways and his smile. On Friday, October 20, 2017, Bobby peacefully passed into the Lord’s embrace. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Maxine Buckley on December 28, 2003, his father, James C. Buckley on June 15, 2014; an infant sister, Georgia Denson and one brother, SGT. Floyd C. Denson (1966). He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Bobbie Lynn (Adrien) Stephen , two grandchildren; his siblings, Thelma J. Webb of Okolona, AR, Mary Buckley of Arkadelphia, Clementine Dyer of Ontario, CA, James M. Buckley of Arkadelphia, Mary K. Hunter of El Centro, CA, Janie Jones of Arkadelphia, Sylvester “Toni” Buckley of Gardena, CA and Renski Davis-Buckley of Houston, TX. He also leaves one uncle, Hezy Barton of Okolona, AR; four aunts, Dessie Buckley of Flint, MI, Maud S. Hill of Malvern, AR, Betty Hunter of Atlanta, GA, and Mae Ella Dyer of Flint, MI, as well as, several nieces, nephews, cousins, numerous friends and the Los Angeles County family.
