The Life and Times of Dana Rochelle Craig
“Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted.” Matthew 5:4
Dana Rochelle Craig was born into time on June 15, 1966 to Mary J. Davis and Isiah “Zack” Craig in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She attended school in Arkadelphia and was a 1984 graduate of Arkadelphia High School. She excelled as a student and was loved by all. It was there she created lasting friendships with faculty and students alike. She was a graduate of the Arkadelphia Beauty College and worked for Brenda Carter for 2 years. She later worked as a LST1 at the Arkadelphia Human Development Center. She worked hard and took on the big responsibility of raising her brothers and sisters when their mother passed. Dana loved to shop, talk on the telephone all day; every day. Her greatest joy was her son, “Doc” and her grandsons. She looked forward to spoiling Kiontae and Kamryn. She made friends easily and Sunday’s were often the place to get a full cooked meal. Her doors were always open and she welcomed all. Dana joined St. Ruth Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Charlie Thomas. She always enjoyed Christian fellowship when her health permitted her to attend. If you ever needed a friend, you could find one in Dana. Although she is no longer with us in body her spirit and memory will always linger on. Family, as well as friends, will miss her strength, smile and love, but will never forget her spirit and laughter. She passed into the Lord’s embrace on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Hickory Heights Health and Rehab in Little Rock. Dana was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Jean Davis Roberts (June 12, 1993); her father Isiah “Zack” Craig (January 28, 2017) and her brothers Isiah Craig, Jr. (May 3, 1990) James Fitzgerald Roberts (April 2, 2016). She leaves a legacy of love to her son, Kiontae J. “Doc” Thomas of Arkadelphia; her beloved grandsons, Kamryn McClannahan and Kiontae Thomas, Jr.; siblings, Anthony “Keity” Roberts (Marketta) of Little Rock, Pansy Jackson (Willie) of Arkadelphia, Tiffany Bullock (Andre) of Arkadelphia, Kellie Harris (Brandon) of Arkadelphia, LaToya Roberts Malone (Preston) of Little Rock, Jeanne Jones of Arkadelphia, AR, Norman (Felicia) Jacobs, Sr., of Malvern, AR, Kelly Craig (Donta Thrower) of Bearden, AR, Reggie (Barbara) Craig of Hot Springs, AR, Corrie (Vanessa) Craig of Camden, AR, Ebonie (Patrick) Craig-Dawn of Carthage, AR, Keiana (Alim) Craig-Hogan of Hot Springs, AR, and Shakara (Antonio) Oakley-Lomack of Princeton, AR.
