David Steven Ollison

January 16, 1951 — March 5, 2010

God hath made everything beautiful in His time and on January 16, 1951, He brought forth David Steven Ollison, one of His most beautiful and valuable creations. David was the 4th child born to Albert, Jr. and Dorothy Wilson Ollison. He grew up in Gurdon surrounded by the love of his sisters and brothers. He attended Bell High School where he excelled as an athlete. David worked as a Mill Wright with Anthony Timberlands in Malvern, Arkansas for several years. David accepted Christ at a tender age and united with the Mt. Canaan Baptist Church family under the pastorate of Rev. Lord. In 1980, God entrusted David with the nurturing of a little girl he named Latisha to raise and love. On July 1, 2003 he married Teresa Marie Blondin. David was a lover of sports, fishing and hunting. He was a member of T & T Deer Camp and Kansas Deer Camp. Family, as well as friends, will miss his smile and love, but will never forget his giving spirit and compassion. He lived life to the fullest, and there was never a dull moment when David was around. He was blessed beyond measure by the Creator and those whose lives he touched received a portion of that blessing. During his 59th season, David surrendered his soul to Christ on Friday, March 5, 2010 at his home in Chickasha, Oklahoma. David was a devoted husband to Teresa, the loving father one daughter, Latisha Ollison of Arkadelphia, AR; three beautiful sisters,Rebecca Ollison of Cedar Hill, TX, Rose Mary (Terry) Wright of Gurdon, AR, Lisa Martin of Tucson, AZ; two handsome brothers, Charles Ollison of Gurdon, AR, Clifford (Faye) Ollison of Prescott, AR, and Matthew Ollison of Pine Bluff, AR. Those also left to cherish his love and laughter are his good friend Miles Stockton, several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and numerous friends. David will lie in state at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A farewell celebration will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church where Rev. Johnny Harris is the pastor and eulogist. The committal service and final resting place will be at Rose Hedge Cemetery.
