Our world is much richer, because we were blessed to have Christine Jones in our lives. This “Woman for All Seasons” began her earthly sojourn through life on April 4, 1913, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and completed this journey when her immortal sprit soared to its resting place on September 15, 2010, at her home in Benton with her family by her side. “Come ye blessed of my Father; inherit the kingdom prepared for you.”
She was born to Charlie and Wealthy Bizzer McNeal. At an early age, she made a personal decision to accept Christ as her Savior and continued in the pursuit of spiritual growth and service throughout her life.
The Lord entrusted Christine with one of life’s greatest task – the task of motherhood. She was the proud mother of five children and gladly welcomed her extended family when she married Mr. Williams. She later married George Jones and together they lived happily until his demise.
Christine was a homemaker and a faithful member of Elect Temple Church of God In Christ in Benton, Arkansas.
She leaves to celebrate her life; her children, Ocie (Felita) Jones of Hot Springs, Mozell Dangerfield and Flozell Blevins of Arkadelphia, Fayrene Ellison of Benton and Lennal Joyner of Little Rock; twenty five grandchildren, fifty one great- grandchildren, thirty six great-great grandchildren and countless friends and other family member who will miss her dearly.
Mrs. Jones will lie in state at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Thursday, September 23, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at the Elect Temple Church of God In Christ in Benton, Arkansas. Elder Willie Barnes, Jr., will deliver words of comfort.
The committal service and final resting place will be in Springhill Cemetery in Arkadelphia.
