Willie Lee Tidwell was born on December 21, 1936, in Okolona, Arkansas to the union of Willie Joe Tidwell and Flora Ross Tidwell.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Okolona, Arkansas. Willie Lee was not a man of many words, but of many virtues.
Willie Lee had many pastimes, but his greatest joy was farming and hunting.
On Friday, November 19, 2010, at his home in Okolona Willie Lee surrendered his soul and passed into the Lord’s embrace.
He was welcomed home by his parents, five brothers Walter, Earnest, Willie, Jr., Hershal, Frankie and one sister Florestine.
He leaves two sisters, Easter Lois Hunter of Richmond, VA, and Shelia Tidwell of Arkadelphia, AR; a sister-in-law, Charlene Tidwell of Pine Bluff, AR; one aunt Lillian Hayes of Los Angles, CA; three nephews, Jerry (Ericka) of Sanford, FL, Gary (Bernita) of Virginia, and Derrick (Nicole) of Texas; one niece, Esperanza (Kenny) of Virginia; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and numerous friends.
Mr. Tidwell will lie in state on Friday, December 3, 2010, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church in Okolona, Arkansas where Rev. Larry Mitchell is the pastor and will officiate.
The committal service and final resting place will be in First Baptist Church Cemetery in Okolona, Arkansas.
