One’s life story begins at birth. All chapters following are an ongoing work in progress, revealing the highs and lows in each one’s novel.
Earl Lee Purifoy was born into time on January 26, 1953, in Bluff City, Arkansas. He was the son of the late Erma and Myrtle Gulley Purifoy.
During his early childhood Earl accepted Christ and was baptized. He was a member of St. John Baptist Church in Bluff Cit, Arkansas. Earl possessed a strong work ethic and made many sacrifices to take care of his family. He was employed with Anthony Timberland for 32 years until his health failed.
Earl never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went. His greatest task in life was being a husband, a father, a brother, a grandfather, an uncle and a trusted friend.
On July 23, 2005, Earl married the apple of his eye, Vivian. They shared many happy and precious moments together.
The final earthly chapter was written on Saturday, December 11, 2010, when Earl surrendered his soul to Christ at his home in Prescott.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Herman Purifoy and Earnest Purifoy.
He leaves his memories with his wife, Vivian Gulley Purifoy, his children, Robert E. (Queen) Purifoy of Hope, Latonya (Mark) Hall of Shreveport, Louisiana, Beverly S. Ross of Prescott and Jacoby Purifoy of Camden; two sisters, Birditta Purifoy of Prescott and Murditta (David Morse) Purifoy of Ashdown, AR; six grandchildren, eleven step-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, numerous cousins and friends.
Mr. Purifoy will lie in repose at Williams Funeral Home-The Prescott Chapel in Prescott on Friday, December 17, 2010, from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
The homegoing celebration will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010, at St. John Baptist Church in Bluff City, Rev. Wallace Ingram will officiate.
The committal service and final resting place will be at St. John Cemetery. The bearers of the casket will be Carson Haynie, Fredrick Young, Robert Purifoy, Rodney Ross, Thomas Moss and David Purifoy.
