Andre Dewayne Tank

Andre Dewayne Tank was born at St. Mary Hospital in Dermott, Arkansas to Eddie Lee Tank, Sr., and Johnnie Mae Brown Martin on March 25, 1964. He accepted Christ at a young age and was a member of McGhee Chapel Baptist Church in McGhee, Arkansas.

When the family relocated to California, Andre graduated in 1982 from Washington High School in Los Angeles. After moving back to Arkansas, he landed a job at the Little Rock Hilton Hotel as a dish washer. He was later promoted to cook, then sous chef “second-in-command in the kitchen”. His final promotion was executive chef. He spent 7 years at Hilton where he made many friends and acquaintances.

He loved his family immensely and always showered his mother appreciation and adoration for the influence in his life. He daughter was the apple of his eye.

He was preceded in transition by his father, Eddie L. Tank, Sr., and a brother, Eddie L. Tank, Jr. (April 12, 2020). He traded time for eternity on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Andre leaves to honor and celebrate his life’s journey: his mother, Johnnie Mae Martin of North Little Rock, AR; his daughter, Shahettia (Brandon) Nelson of Little Rock, AR; four grandchildren; his siblings, Rev. Donnie (Gwen) Tank of Sparkman, AR, Roderick Tank of Lompoc, CA and Sharon Tank of San Antonio, TX; eleven nieces and nephews, eleven great-nieces and great-nephews and one uncle, Theotis Evans. He also leaves his sister-in-law, Wadie Tank of Mabelvale, AR, a special aunt, Annie Morgan, other relatives and friends.

Public visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Williams Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Centrepoint Cemetery in Sparkman, Arkansas.
