Carrie Yvonne Torrence was born January 22, 1950, to Carrie Jackson and Joe Burnell. The eldest of four children, Carrie was raised by her grandparents, Walter and Sarah Hamilton. Under the guidance of her grandparents, she received Christ at an early age and became a member of the Macedonia AME Church.

Carrie received her elementary and secondary education at Lafayette High School. She often shared with her loved ones her fond memories of growing up on Brown Hill. On July 6,1975 Carrie married Johnny Torrence, and together they raised three children; Tracy, Troy, and Trendolyn. “

In her early years, she worked in the Camden School District. In later years, she enjoyed working for the State of Arkansas until her retirement in 2012. Carrie loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed many genres of music and dancing.

Today we celebrate her life. We celebrate because of those who shared her life know how blessed we are and how good God has been. We celebrate God’s gift of her to us these many years and then we remember all the wonderful life experiences with her now.

Carrie went home to her heavenly Father on the evening of February 02, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father, her sister Lynda Moore, and one grandchild.

In addition to her loving husband, Johnny Torrence, she leaves to cherish her memory; her mother, Carrie Jackson of Camden, AR; three children, Tracy Torrence of Little Rock, AR, Troy Torrence of Little Rock AR, and Trendolyn Torrence of Little Rock, AR; her special granddaughter, Kandra Torrence of Arlington, TX;  a host of grandchildren including Beyoncé, Tyler, Tyriek, Tre’von, and Tre’Shean; brother Rev.
