Charles E. Mitchell

Charles E. Mitchell was born to the union of Louvenia Travis Mitchell and Willie Mitchell on April 28, 1939, in Jackson, Alabama. At an early age, he gave his life to Christ.

After graduating high school, Charles worked as a logger and custodian. His biggest hobbies were gardening, hunting, fishing, and cooking. Charles enjoyed the simple things in life.

Charles passed from this life on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Nightingale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia. He was preceded in death by his parents; seven siblings, Willie Mae Mitchell, Rosie Mitchell, Roosevelt Mitchell, Ruth Mitchell, Ida Mitchell, Vernon Mitchell, and Clement E. Mitchell.

Charles will be forever remembered by his daughter, Pamela Mitchell of Erie, PA; two sisters, Earnestine Chapman of Arkadelphia, AR; Bernice Poelnitz of Atlanta, GA; close friend, Edward Newburn, a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Public visitation will be on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Williams Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Martin, eulogist. The interment will be at Helms Cemetery in Arkadelphia, AR.

Pallbearers will be Chris Newburn, Ken Jones, Edward Newburn, Kelly Harris, and Shelby McClure.
