September 6, 1942 — May 3, 2022

Curtis Lavell Brown was born on September 6, 1942, in Hampton, Arkansas, to Akebi and Gertrude Moore Brown. They taught their children the value of hard work, being honest, and having a great name.

He accepted Christ at a tender age and was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. He attended bible study, and Sunday school faithfully. He met the beautiful Alice Mae and they were married on March 8, 1966. Although they had no children, they cherished their nieces and nephews are their own. He worked for several logging outfits over the years including, Matt Harper, Willie Walter, and Greg Golden.

Curtis found a passion for quartet singing. His resounding and melodious voice landed him a place with the “The Spiritual Connection”, the “Atkins Family” and lastly the “Wings of Joy”. He would sing in quartets all over the state and was well-known. He maintained close ties with Marilyn Lee Goodman who played the keyboard and Ray Gulley “Big Money Grip”.
